Range Rover Price in Kenya (2026): Sport, Vogue, Velar & Evoque Costs in Nairobi, Mombasa and Beyond

Current Range Rover prices in Kenya for every popular model, what drives the cost, and how to import one from the UK or Japan with a fixed, all-inclusive KES quote.

Range Rover price in Kenya: Range Rover Sport imported by Elisa Motors

The Range Rover price in Kenya starts at about KES 5.5M for a compliant Evoque and climbs past KES 35M for a new-shape Autobiography. That is a wide gap. However, most buyers in Nairobi, Mombasa and Nakuru land somewhere in the middle. Therefore, this guide breaks the cost down model by model, year by year and route by route.

Elisa Motors imports Range Rovers to order from the United Kingdom and Japan. We quote one landed figure in Kenya shillings. That figure covers the car, shipping to Mombasa, KRA taxes, clearing and NTSA registration. As a result, you know the real cost before you commit a single shilling.

Below you will find a live price table, a model-by-model breakdown, our full import services and honest ownership costs. Furthermore, you will learn why a locally used Range Rover in Westlands can cost more over three years than a fresh import.

Range Rover prices in Kenya by model

Range Rover Sport price in Kenya

The Range Rover Sport is the model Kenyans ask about most. A Sport HSE 3.0 SDV6 lands at about KES 9M – 11M. In fact, that diesel is the sweet spot for Nairobi buyers who also drive upcountry.

The petrol HSE Dynamic P400 costs KES 10M – 12M. Meanwhile, the new-shape L461 Autobiography D350 sits at KES 17M – 21M. Older SDV6 and TDV6 units from 2017 or 2018 can no longer be imported. However, they still trade locally on sites such as Jiji, usually with unclear mileage.

Range Rover Vogue price in Kenya

The full-size Range Rover, still called "Vogue" by most Kenyans, is the boardroom choice. A Vogue 4.4 SDV8 lands at about KES 14M – 17M. The plug-in hybrid Vogue P400e is slightly cheaper at KES 13.5M – 16M.

The new-shape L460 is a different price class. For example, the D350 HSE costs KES 22M – 27M. Similarly, the P530 Autobiography V8 reaches KES 28M – 35M. Long-wheelbase (LWB) cars add a premium on top.

Range Rover Velar price in Kenya

The Velar is the design-led choice for Kilimani, Lavington and Karen. A Velar D200 R-Dynamic SE lands at KES 6.5M – 7.5M. The P250 R-Dynamic HSE costs KES 7M – 8.2M, while the P400 HSE tops the range.

Range Rover Evoque price in Kenya

The Evoque is the cheapest way into the badge. The Evoque D180 SE lands at KES 5.5M – 6.5M. Likewise, the P250 R-Dynamic costs KES 6M – 7M. It suits Nairobi traffic, Thika Superhighway commutes and weekend trips to Naivasha.

Land Rover Defender and Discovery prices

Many buyers compare Range Rovers with their Land Rover siblings. The Land Rover Defender lands from KES 10.5M. Meanwhile, the seven-seat Discovery 5 starts near KES 7.5M. See every model on our Land Rover import page.

What decides the Range Rover price in Kenya?

Five factors explain almost every price difference you will see. First, year of first registration. A 2025 car costs far more than a 2019 car, and anything older is not importable. Second, engine and fuel. Diesels attract different excise duty from petrols, while plug-in hybrids sit in their own bracket.

Third, source market. Ex-UK Range Rovers usually come with full dealer history and higher specs. Ex-Japan units are rarer but often have very low mileage. Fourth, KRA valuation. KRA taxes the car on its CRSP value, not on what you paid. Therefore, two identical cars bought at different prices pay the same duty.

Finally, condition and mileage. A cheap Range Rover with a tired air suspension is not cheap. Consequently, we inspect every unit and share photos and reports before purchase. Read our step-by-step import guide for the full tax breakdown.

Our services: Range Rover imports across Kenya

Elisa Motors handles every step from the UK or Japanese seller to your driveway. Here is exactly what we do for Range Rover buyers in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret and every other county.

1. Range Rover sourcing from the UK for Nairobi buyers

The UK is the home market of Land Rover. As a result, it has the deepest supply of right-hand-drive Range Rovers in the world. We search approved-used dealers, main-dealer part exchanges and trusted trade auctions for your exact spec.

Every UK car comes with an MOT history we can check online. In addition, most have a stamped service book from a Land Rover dealer. That record matters when you later sell the car in Westlands, Runda or Muthaiga. Learn more on our import from UK page or in our UK import guide.

2. Range Rover import from Japan to Mombasa

Japan also exports Range Rovers, although in smaller numbers. Japanese owners drive very little, and cars are graded at auction. For instance, a grade 4.5 Velar with 25,000 km is not unusual.

Japan-spec cars sometimes need radio and navigation conversion to English. We arrange that before delivery. Furthermore, our Japan import guide explains how to read auction sheets so you can judge any unit yourself.

3. Landed cost quotes and KRA duty calculation

Our quote shows one total in KES. Behind it, we work out import duty, excise duty, 16% VAT, the Import Declaration Fee and the Railway Development Levy. We base every figure on the current KRA CRSP schedule.

Because of that, there are no surprise top-ups at Mombasa port. If you compare two versions, such as an SDV6 diesel and a P400 petrol, we quote both side by side. You then choose with real numbers, not guesses.

4. Pre-shipment inspection and mileage verification

Range Rovers are complex cars. Therefore, we check the air suspension, the 4x4 system, the infotainment and the timing components on diesels. We also confirm the mileage against MOT records or auction sheets.

Every car then passes the KEBS-appointed roadworthiness inspection in the export country. Moreover, we send you photos and a video walk-around before we pay. You approve the unit, or we keep searching.

5. Mombasa port clearing and NTSA registration

Ships discharge at Kilindini Harbour in Mombasa. Our clearing team lodges the customs entry, pays KRA on your behalf and handles KPA charges. Subsequently, the car is verified and released, usually within a week.

We then register the car with NTSA and fit Kenyan plates. You receive the logbook in your name. Similarly, if you prefer to collect at the port, we hand over in Mombasa with all documents ready.

6. Delivery to Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu, Eldoret and beyond

Most clients collect in Nairobi. However, we deliver anywhere in Kenya. A covered car carrier brings your Range Rover up the Mombasa–Nairobi highway, then on to Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu, Kitale or Kericho.

We also deliver to Nyeri, Nanyuki, Meru and Embu, and down the coast to Nyali, Diani and Malindi. As a result, you avoid driving a new car 480 km on unfamiliar roads before it has been serviced.

7. Range Rover financing, insurance and trade-in support

Many buyers fund a Range Rover through bank asset finance. We provide the pro-forma invoice, valuation details and documents that Kenyan banks request. In addition, we can connect you with insurers for comprehensive cover from the day the car lands.

Want to trade in your current car? Tell us what you drive. Meanwhile, we can advise on its value so you plan the balance properly. Ask us through the import request form or the order form on this page.

Ready to compare Range Rover quotes? We can price a Sport, Velar and Evoque side by side. Use the order form, call +254 725 310 112 or WhatsApp +254 725 310 112.

Ex UK vs ex Japan Range Rover: which is better for Kenya?

For most buyers, the UK wins on choice and history. UK cars arrive with higher specs, such as panoramic roofs and Meridian audio. In contrast, Japanese cars win on low mileage and very clean interiors.

There is one UK caveat. British roads are salted in winter. Consequently, we always inspect the underside for corrosion before buying. A clean UK car is excellent. A rusty one is a problem you should never import.

Shipping times differ too. UK cars take about five to seven weeks to reach Mombasa. Japan takes about four to six weeks. See all luxury SUVs we import if you are still deciding.

Range Rover running costs in Kenya

Fuel consumption

A diesel Range Rover Sport returns roughly 11–13 km/L on the highway. In Nairobi traffic, expect less. Petrol V8s are much thirstier. Therefore, diesel or plug-in hybrid versions make more sense if you drive daily between Kiambu and the CBD. Browse more diesel SUVs and hybrid cars.

Service, spare parts and air suspension

Plan for a proper service every 10,000–15,000 km at a Land Rover specialist. Nairobi has several, and parts are available along Kirinyaga Road and through dealers. However, genuine parts are not cheap.

Air suspension is the most common big repair. Compressors and air struts wear with age and rough roads. For that reason, a younger, low-mileage import is often cheaper to run than an older locally used car.

Insurance and tracking

Comprehensive insurance is usually quoted as a percentage of the car's value. Insurers also require an approved tracking device for high-value SUVs. We can fit one before delivery.

Locally used vs fresh import Range Rover

A locally used Range Rover in a Mombasa Road yard can look cheaper upfront. However, it may be outside the 8-year window, with unknown service history. In fact, many have already needed suspension or turbo work.

A fresh import has verified mileage, a clean history and no previous Kenyan owner. Moreover, it keeps its value better when you sell. If you still prefer a local car, have it checked by a specialist first.

Range Rover buying checklist for Kenyan buyers

Before you pay for any Range Rover, run through these checks. First, confirm the first registration date is 2019 or later. Second, ask for the full service history and match it to the mileage. Third, test the air suspension by raising and lowering the car on every setting.

Next, scan the car for stored fault codes. Range Rovers record electrical and suspension faults that a quick test drive may miss. Then check the tyres, because big wheels mean expensive replacements. Finally, compare the landed price with a fresh import quote. Often, the difference is smaller than you expect.

We run this checklist on every car we import. In addition, we can inspect a locally used car for you before you buy.

Range Rover price in Kenya: FAQs

How much is a Range Rover in Kenya?
In 2026, a compliant Range Rover lands in Kenya from about KES 5.5M for an Evoque, KES 6.5M for a Velar and KES 9M for a Range Rover Sport. A full-size Range Rover (Vogue) starts near KES 13.5M. Prices include shipping, KRA duty, clearing and registration.
What is the cheapest Range Rover in Kenya?
The Range Rover Evoque is the cheapest. The Evoque D180 SE lands at about KES 5.5M – 6.5M. It offers the Range Rover badge, cabin quality and 4WD at the lowest cost.
Which Range Rover year can I import in 2026?
Under the KEBS 8-year rule, you can import Range Rovers first registered in 2019 or later in 2026. Older units cannot be imported. We check the registration date before buying.
Is it cheaper to import a Range Rover from the UK or Japan?
Prices are similar once landed. The UK offers far more choice, higher specs and verifiable service history. Japan offers very low mileage. We can quote both routes so you can compare.
Is a Range Rover reliable on Kenyan roads?
Yes, if you buy a well-maintained, younger unit and service it on time. The main risks are air suspension wear and neglected diesels. A low-mileage import with full history reduces those risks a lot.
